Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion

Absolute Beast for Relieving Dry Skin

Irreplaceably useful moisturizer during times of extreme dryness and tightness, with the added benefit of smoothing closed comedones. If I could give 6 stars, I would.

  • Helps soften closed comedones and rough skin
  • Moisturizing and relieving for extremely dry skin
  • Dermatologist tested across multiple countries
  • Highly nourishing and naturally-focused formulation, providing an aromatherapy experience
  • No synthetic fragrance
  • Leaves a temporary white cast on the face that is hard to absorb if applied in thick layers
  • Smells metallic like a mineral supplement
  • Contains multiple essential oils and eucalyptus oil

I honestly dislike applying creams, probably because past ones left me traumatized by clogging my pores and causing breakouts. They all claimed to be non-comedogenic, yet they never worked for my oily skin. Dr. Deep’s Multi Emulsion, however, changed my perspective. It isn’t as oily as I expected, doesn’t clog pores, and feels comfortable on the skin. It isn’t heavy, absorbs well, and works surprisingly well for oily, sensitive skin. I still wouldn’t use it outside of winter, but for the colder months, it’s genuinely reliable. It also spreads easily, so only a small amount is needed.

Packaging & Design

The product comes in an ordinary pale sky-blue and white tube and box. The tube stands 17.3cm tall with a width of 8cm, while the cap measures 4.7cm in diameter. At 150ml, it’s larger than typical facial skincare lotions and creams, making it rather impractical to carry during travel.

The tube’s plastic is slightly thick, so even when backlit, the contents are only faintly visible. The flip-top cap allows for easy dispensing onto the skin, and the opening is appropriately sized to control the amount with ease.

The box features FSC-certified Mix packaging and includes usage instructions, ingredient lists, and precautions printed in both Korean and English.

Texture & Consistency

The Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion has a texture that leans far more towards a substantial lotion than a fluid, milky emulsion. The formulation is pure white, and while it carries citrus-lavender notes, the scent isn’t particularly refreshing or calming. Instead, it gives off a distinctive metallic scent that comes from mineral supplements. One tester who’s sensitive to fragrances described it as rather off-putting.

The product spreads easily on skin, but feels most creamy during the final absorption stage, when a white cast appears. This white cast is a temporary phenomenon caused by the coconut-derived emulsifiers, and disappears once you pat it in and allow full absorption. It leaves a powdery yet creamy afterfeel.

While it absorbs reasonably well, applying too much to one area makes it significantly harder to spread, intensifies the white cast, and extends the time it takes to disappear.

There’s a very subtle oily sensation, and when blotted with oil paper 10 minutes after application, it shows far less oil than what you might feel on the skin. I’d describe this as breathable creaminess.

Water, Mineral Water, Glycerin, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Sodium Hyaluronate, Polyglyceryl-6 Distearate, Phytosqualane, Olea Europaea (Olive) Fruit Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii (Shea) Butter, Oenothera Biennis (Evening Primrose) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Citrus Grandis (Grapefruit) Fruit Extract, Chamomilla Recutita (Matricaria) Flower/Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis Leaf Extract, Magnolia Kobus Bark Extract, Salix Alba (Willor) Bark Extract, Propolis Extract, Thujopsis Dolabrata BRANCH Extract, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Cetearyl Alcohol, Citrus Paradisi (Grapefruit) Seed Extract, Plantago Asiatica Extract, Allantoin, Aloe Brabadensis Leaf Juice Powder, Tocopheryl Acetate, Xanthan Gum, Lavandula Angustifolla (Lavender) Oil, Citrus Limon (Lemon) Peel Oil, Citrus Aurantium Dulcis (Orange) Peel Oil, Cananga Odorata Flower Oil, Eucalyptus Globulus Leaf Oil, Pelargonium Graveolens Flower Oil, Citral, Geraniol, Linalool, Citronellol, Limonene

Dr.Deep uses mineral ionized water as a primary ingredient to reinforce the skin’s natural moisturizing factors within the stratum corneum, improving the keratinocyte turnover cycle and smoothing rough, uneven skin texture. The calcium ions influence how skin cells mature and shed properly, ensuring the process is healthy and preventing the abnormal buildup that leads to comedones.

The product is highly hydrating because it uses a multi-faceted approach, combining humectants, emollients, and occlusives in its formulation. The ionized calcium also supports an intact skin barrier that is better at retaining the moisture provided by the other ingredients.

Dr.Deep uses plant-derived emulsifiers—glyceryl stearate and polyglyceryl-6 distearate—to minimize skin irritation. These emulsifiers blend water and oil in lotion and cream formulations, but can feel less silky during application compared to conventional creams using silicone oils, and may cause a temporary white cast when spread on skin. This disappears as the product absorbs.

The citral, geraniol, linalool, citronellol, and limonene aren’t artificial fragrances. They’re listed at the end of the ingredient list to comply with regulations and provide transparent information to consumers about potential allergens. The Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion contains no synthetic fragrance; the natural essential oils included naturally contain small amounts of these allergenic substances (citral, linalool, limonene, etc.).

Performance

I’ve been using this product for a while now, keeping it stocked specifically for when my skin hits crisis mode. I had planned to document a different cream, but as the weather turned colder and my skin became severely dehydrated, it demanded this one instead.

When my skin gets dry, even water stings. In this state, even the mildest creams cause discomfort, products that don’t sting fail to hold moisture, and rich creams just sit on the surface. Avène Cicalfate was the only thing that worked for such conditions. Then I discovered this product, which delivers the comfort of a repair cream with the practicality of a lotion.

The photos below show why I’ve come to love this product as someone with dry skin. Even when my skin is incredibly tight and dry, with flaking beyond belief right after cleansing with a hydrating cleanser, this product settles the flakes and soothes my skin without the oils sitting on the surface.

This effect isn’t just temporary flake-smoothing. After applying only this product morning and evening for two weeks, photos taken after cleansing with nothing applied show visibly more comfortable skin with no flaking. The hydration feels remarkably significant. I can’t imagine a better product for extremely dry skin. It delivers abundant moisture while the perfectly balanced oil content fills in hydration evenly.

The versatility is absolutely impressive. I only need to layer a thicker cream when facing harsh winter winds. Even in summer when my skin dries out, I apply it thinly. Despite the oil content, it never sits on the surface but absorbs completely, making it my year-round rescue product.

One of Dr.Deep’s main marketing claims is texture improvement, so I documented closed comedones on my forehead for two weeks. What I noticed is that Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion performs exceptionally well on closed comedones across broad areas like the forehead.

However, when I observed firm bumps around the eyes and milia on the eyelids at a different time, improvement was minimal. Of course, individual results vary, but if you purchase this simply thinking it will eliminate all bumps, you may be disappointed.

Overall, Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion is genuinely helpful for dry to extremely dry skin. If you’ve used sheet masks and still felt dry, I strongly recommend trying this product. If other creams feel like they’re not delivering proper hydration, like someone’s robbed your skincare of its moisturizing function, you might feel deflated that you’re only discovering this now. I stumbled upon it by chance and felt that exact deflation.

After using several tubes of Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion, I’ve realized it’s a fairly boring product from a beauty skincare perspective. So, I reserve this for emergencies and spend my usual days exploring other skincare. It’s like a home you can always return to after a long, difficult journey.

Value for Money

I personally believe this is worth every penny. The price might seem steep, but with its generous 150 ml and the deep hydration I haven’t found replicated elsewhere, I recommend that anyone with dry skin try it at least once. I’ve tested countless highly praised creams, night creams, eye creams, and sheet masks to fix my dry facial skin. Products that truly helped? Zero. Every morning, it felt as if a cow had licked my face overnight, leaving no moisture behind. When I add up what I spent on those products, this one feels like pocket change in comparison.

Who Is It For?

Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion works well for:

  • Dry skin needing a daily moisturizer to calm rough, tight skin
  • Extremely dry skin that other products haven’t been able to fix
  • Closed comedone-prone skin that also needs reliable hydration
  • Combination and oily skin looking for a moisturizer to survive winter

Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion Hyper-Mineral: Verdict

Dr.Deep Multi Emulsion is an absolute beast at solving dry skin problems. The moisture somehow penetrates deeper layers, leaving you feeling hydrated from within. For someone dealing with occasional extreme dryness, it’s an irreplaceable lifesaver. The texture is a slightly creamy lotion that isn’t heavily oily, so combination or oily skin can handle the hydrating yet breathable finish.

The downside? It smells metallic and leaves a temporary white cast. The white cast comes from plant-derived emollients, so I’m fine with it since it absorbs away. But the smell? Though I love this product wholeheartedly, it just reminds me of mineral supplements. I can tell it’s meant to be citrus lavender, but something about it asks, “Did you take your supplements today?”

I haven’t found a moisturizer that can replace this, especially since it also tackles closed comedones.
